Station 28 Apparatus
Engine 28
Engine 28 is a 1991 E-One Protector, and operates as a first-due rescue pumper. It's features and equipment include :
- Enclosed cab seats 4 firefighters (driver, officer and two firefighters)
- 750 gallon water tank
- 1250 gallon/min single stage pump
- 1200 feet of large diameter supply hose (5")
- 2 - 200 foot 1.75 inch preconnect "crosslays" for primary fire attack
- 100 foot 1.75 inch preconnect rear "trash line"
- 200 feet of 3" hose for supply relay or portable monitor deployment
- 200 feet of 2.5" hose for hand-held master stream firefighting
- Pre-packed "high rise kit" for interior fire attack in multi-story commercial and residential structures with standpipes
- 20 gallons of Foam, foam eductor, and aspirator
- Pre-piped deck gun
- 24 foot ground ladder, 14 foot roof ladder, and 12 foot attic ladder
- Tarps, smoke ejector, overhall tools and gear
- Full compliment of hand-held forceable entry tools, K-12 Saw, Chain Saw, Reciprocating Saw and Aux. scene lighting
- Fully stocked BLS medical gear and supplies
Engine 828
Engine 828 is a 2008 Type VI Compressed Air Foam, Fast Attack. It is been outfitted for wildland and brush firefighting, structural protection, Emergency Medical Response, Storm Recovery, and Rescue. It was built by Unruh Firefighting in Sedgewick, Kansas, made possible by FEMA's Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program:
- Enclosed cab seats 4 firefighters
- 300 gallon water tank
- 25 gallon foam tank
- Odin Derringer Compressed Air Foam pump system (250gpm)
- 200 foot booster hose line reel mounted in the right rear compartment
- Remote Controlled front bumper turret
- 200 feet of 1.75 inch preconnect hose with smooth bore nozzle (for extra reach)
- 325 feet of 2.5 inch supply hose
- Warn 12,000lb Winch
- HID Light Tower with 4 Metal Hallide Heads
- Complete set of Forestry Mop-up hand tools
- BLS Medical Equipment (AED, Oxygen, Trauma Bag, Backboard, C-Spine & Spints)
- Stihl Chain Saw
Utility 28
Utility 28 is a 2007 Ford F250 Superduty Four Wheel Drive Pickup Truck. It's mission varies, but it caries basic BLS medical gear, basic wildland firefighting tools, and support equipment for two wildland firefighters. We primarily use U-28 to pull our SCBA Air Trailer, and for logistics support.
Air 28
Air 28 was delivered in 2005, and was purchased with a grant from the Department of Homeland Security, with the generous support of the Boeing Employee Community Fund, and our community. Features include :
- Nine 6000 psi Storage bottles, and a booster pump capable of refilling 100 standard SCBA bottles
- 100 foot remote fill line on rear-mounted power rewind reel
- 6 Kw Generator
- Four 500 watt scene lights
- 110 Volt and 12 Volt interior lighting
- Airconditioning
- Retractable Awning
- Cool-Mist fan system
- Four complete spare SCBAs
- Fifteen spare SCBA bottles
P.R.V. 28
P.R.V. 28 was a grant from the US Smokelss Tobacco Company. It is a 2007 Polaris 6 Wheel Drive Off-Road Utility Vehicle. It is used for wildland search and rescue, supporting wildland firefighting efforts, and for medical coverage at events like the Space Coast State Fair.
