Engine 828
The Four Communities Fire Department was awarded a 2008 grant from the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program for a Fast Attack/Brush Truck.
The truck is a multi-function fire-rescue response vehicle, built by Unruh Fire in Kansas.
828 is a 2008 Ford F550 Type VI Engine. It's features and equipment include :
- Four door crew cab
- 300 gallon water tank
- 25 gallon foam tank
- Odin Derringer CAFS System with 2 125gpm mix points
- 200 foot lightweight booster hose on electric rewind reel
- 200 foot 1.75 inch preconnect
- Elkhart Sidewinder remote control front bumper turret
- 300 feet of 2.5" hose for supply
- Twp 10-foot sections of 2.5 inch flexible suction
- Command Star HID light tower
- Full compliment of hand-held forceable entry tools
- Fully stocked BLS medical gear and supplies

Center console design took time to fit in all the pump & bumper turret controls, two radios, light & srien controls and water pressure gauge and open door indicators.
This was a first cut at designing the lettering/striping, using a picture of another Unruh delivery as a template:
